At this time of the year, you will find ripe figs everywhere in Puglia. There are so many that people don’t know what to do with them. Literally in every garden there is at least one tree full of ready to eat juicy figs. Last summer, when we were still searching for our trullo, whatever property we visited, the owners were donating us hands full of figs because they couldn’t eat them all.

I can’t wait to be able to use the fruits of our own garden in the kitchen. This inspired me to collect some recipes for a good future use of our ‘fichi’. If you happen to pass, feel free to take some figs with you!
